First In Flight hosts inaugural "virtual" gymnastics meet

On February 20-21, First In Flight Gymnastics held its inaugural virtual gymnastics meet, the Lucky Charm Invitation. It was the first of its kind for First In Flight Gymnastics in Gastonia, NC. Routines were streamed live to judges who were in the comfort and safety of their homes. The meet was an innovative success and paved the way for a new era in gymnastics.

The 2021 Lucky Charm Invitational featured an array of color and amazing gymnastics. First in Flight's AAU and Xcel teams took part and the results speak for themselves.

Coach Nicki was a part of launching the virtual meet concept and was moved by the process.

"I was really impressed with how well the meet went," she says. "The girls had a lot of fun and it just all seemed to all flow really well".

The 2021 gymnastics season has brought a host of challenges to the way we participate in gymnastics meets and it looks like for now, the virtual meet will be a good option so that we can safely take part in the sport.
